The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 empowers every citizen of India to seek information from public authorities, promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance. In accordance with the RTI (Regulation of Fee and Cost) Rules, 2005 framed by the Government of India, citizens may obtain information relating to the ICAR–National Research Centre on Pig (ICAR–NRC on Pig), Rani, Guwahati by submitting a written RTI application to the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) of the Institute along with the prescribed application fee and applicable charges for copies of documents.
Established in 2002 under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Government of India, ICAR–National Research Centre on Pig is dedicated to excellence in basic, applied, and strategic research on pig production, health, and product processing. The Institute is committed to advancing scientific research, developing sustainable pig production technologies, serving as a national repository of information on pig production, and strengthening capacity building to meet the present and future needs of the livestock sector.
As a public research institution, the Centre is committed to ensuring timely dissemination of information under the RTI Act and upholding the principles of openness, transparency, and accountability in all its activities.

PAYMENT PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING INFORMATION
The request for seeking information under the Act may be submitted to the officers mentioned above either by post, person or e-mail along with prescribed payment. The model schedule of fee for seeking information is described here.
The request for obtaining information under sub-section (1) of section (6) shall be accompanied by an application fee of rupees ten by demand draft/bankers’ cheque/ IPO/ online transaction payable to the "ICAR unit-NRC on Pig" payable at Guwahati.
For providing the information under sub-section (1) of section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of demand draft/banker's cheque/debit card/online transaction payable to the "ICAR unit-NRC on Pig" payable at Guwahati at the following rates: -
- (a) rupees two for each page (in A-4 or A-3 size paper) created or copied;
- (b) actual charge or cost price of a copy in large size paper;
- (c) actual cost or price for samples or models; and
- (d) for inspection of records no fee for the first hour; and a fee of rupees five for each fifteen minutes (or fraction thereof)
Thereafter:
For providing the information under sub-section (5) of section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of demand draft/banker's cheque/debit card/online transaction payable to the "ICAR unit-NRC on Pig" payable at Guwahati at the following rates: -
- (a) for information provided in diskette or floppy rupees fifty per diskette or floppy; and
- (b) for information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or rupees two per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication.
