ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig has set up a state-of-the-art 'Food Testing Laboratory/Quality Control laboratory' in its Rani campus. The QC Lab is equipped to analyze the following parameters of food origin with more emphasis on meat and meat products.

1.	Microbial Analysis
	a. Standard plate count b. PCR based detection of food borne pathogens c. ELISA based Screening of E. coli O157 and Salmonella spp. in food samples
2.	Heavy metal & trace mineral analysis
	a. Detection of heavy metals (Hg, Pb, As, Cd, Sn) and trace minerals (Cu, Na, K, Mg, Mn, Se, Fe & Ca) in food samples
3.	Molecular based detection of meat adulteration/sex determination
	a. PCR based adulteration detection in pork b. PCR based sex determination
4.	Antibiotic & pesticide residue analysis (HPLC/LC-MS/MS)
5.	Energy / calorific value measurement
6.	Texture Profile Analysis
