AboutMy research is driven by a fundamental question, how can we leverage the power of genetics to ensure the reproductive health and productivity performance of our livestock? This passion for discovery fuels my work in mammalian cytogenetics and functional genomics, with a particular focus on animal genetics and breeding. In my laboratory, I work independently and in collaboration to achieve research goals on time and constantly achieve new skills to progress translational research. Our laboratory is seeking to understand the comparative organization and functional genetics of the mammalian genome by analyzing the genomes of animals with special reference to Pigs. Of particular interest are those regions of the mammalian genome which contain genes that confer infertility, and disease tolerance in animals. Currently, our laboratory is working on functional genomics with a focus on the genomics of mammalian Y chromosomes, and the genomics of reproduction as well as disease genetics. We use approaches that include sequencing of nuclear and mtDNA, microsatellite genotyping and next-generation sequencing to understand the dynamics of populations in the pig. My recent focus is on next-generation sequencing in pig genomic and conservation genetics to understand the important economic traits of pigs. We are also working on the discovery of fertility-related siRNA and their potential role in male infertility in pigs as well as traceability and use of Artificial intelligence to enhance pig production and profitability. Recently, we have also working on the digitization of piggery using AI technology as well as the thermal imaging profile of pigs. I’m seeking potential opportunities in non-profits, molecular biology and genetics-based organizations to engage and contribute to the biotech space as a scientist or research analyst that leverages my distinct technical background and skills towards potential transformative avenues for dealing with gene discovery and understanding mammalian genome. Our laboratory is very well-equipped for molecular biology work and pig genomics. Beyond the lab, my fascination with the intricate dance of life extends to my hobbies. I enjoy delving into the world of conservation genetics, and studying how animals have adapted to challenging environments. It's a constant reminder of the importance of biodiversity and the delicate balance within ecosystems. If you share my passion for agricultural innovation and the power of genetics, I'd love to connect and discuss potential collaborative opportunities. Let's work together to unlock the full potential of our animal companions for a more sustainable and productive future. Area of specialization: Animal Genetics and Breeding (specialization -Animal Genomics)
