About ITMU

The Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) of the ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig plays a pivotal role in intellectual property (IP) management and technology transfer, aligned with ICAR's guidelines on Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer/Commercialization. Established under the ICAR plan scheme titled “Intellectual Property Management and Transfer/Commercialization of Agricultural Technology Scheme,” this initiative was an expansion of the existing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) component under the ICAR Headquarters Scheme on Management and Information Services, with funding provided by ICAR. The ITMU ensures systematic management of the institute's IP portfolio, supports innovation-driven research and facilitates the transfer and commercialization of approved technologies and know-how as per the recommendations of the Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC). This unit strengthens the linkage between research outcomes and their practical application in the field of agriculture and allied sciences.

Apart from the usual IP related activities, the ITMU is also engaged in displaying the institute’s technologies and profile in various state, national, and international level exhibitions.
